Pre-Operative Care Instructions
Sedation & Anesthesia
In prepartation for your upcoming surgery, here are some tips that will help your day go smoothly. You will need to come in on the day of your procedure with an empty stomach. You can eat anything you want to the night before. You can drink lots of fluids the night before to ‘fill up the tank’. Nothing to eat or drink after midnight or in the morning. You can take your regular morning prescription medications with just a sip of water unless instructed otherwise by your doctor or someone on our team. When you come in, someone will need to come with you that can wait for you, take you home and babysit you for the rest of the day.
We do reccomend someone stay with you for the first day and night. We will give you some medicine through an IV in your arm so that you can take a little nap while we perform your procedure. When you wake up from surgery, your mouth will feel numb for a couple of hours. This will let you get home, get something soft to eat, and take it easy for a few days while things start to heal. Again, make sure you come in with an empty stomach and a ride and we will do the rest. We look forward to seeing you soon!
